We had a fabulous back yard at Montcalm St. The lady who used to live in the house for about 30 years planted roses, fuchsias, calla lilies, flowering quince, camellias, and the yard was all overgrown and beautiful. There were several varieties of fuchsia that grew so thick over the path though the yard we had to prune them back. There was also an english walnut tree and a yellow plum tree, and we got plenty of walnuts and plums from them, and made walnut pies and plum jam. There was a second section of the yard, way in back, that had lots of rose bushes and tall grass. There was a huge beautiful agave next to a little pond. We put goldfish in the fish pond, but the neighborhood cats ate them. We didn't get to spend as much time in the yard as we'd have liked because there were dogs in several of the neighboring yards who barked incessantly and it was grating, and usually it was too chilly when the fog came in in the afternoons.
That afternoon it was actually sunny and the dogs were quiet. We got dressed up and ran around in the yard, posing dramatically, actually pretty goofily, but we had a grand time.
